The Craft of Use is part of a body of work conceived of and developed by Kate Fletcher, Professor of Sustainability, Design, Fashion at the Centre for Sustainable Fashion, University of the Arts London. It is the spiritual and intellectual home – the ‘mothership’ – of some of her other work in design for sustainability, most notably the Local Wisdom project, which through an array of ethnographic data and design process, visualises, celebrates and seeks to amplify the ideas and actions of using things.
